Job Title: Purchase Manager
Education: B.E / DME / Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent
Experience: 10–15 years of experience in the manufacturing industry (preferably Machine Shop & Foundry)
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for basic necessity of raw materials for casting & machining & grade wise materials like CI, DI, SS, CF8, ASTM, WCB etc. from various foundries.
- Responsible for alternative consumables for CNC/Machine Shop/Foundry/LLP etc.
- Developing supplier casting & machining as required by approving & onboarding the suppliers.
- Ensure timely follow-up and coordination for deliveries of materials and components.
- Identify, address, and resolve supplier-related issues effectively.
- Responsible for monitoring delivery performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery timelines of various suppliers & reporting to management.
- Cost Reduction Activities to identify & develop alternative suppliers to reduce dependency & improve pricing, to get long-term rate contracts with key suppliers, to get volume-based discounts & price locks, to suggest alternative materials to reduce cost, to improve supplier process efficiency to reduce rejections and costs, support local suppliers to reduce dependency on high-cost vendors.
- Prepare Key Performance Indicators such as cost savings, Purchase Order (PO) Cycle Time, to track on-time delivery of materials, to find supplier defect rate upon arrival etc.
- Responsible for maintaining and ensuring compliance with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and OSHA/safety requirements within the purchasing department.
- Ensure all suppliers comply with applicable quality, safety, and regulatory standards through audits and evaluations.
- Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers for documentation, certifications, and continuous improvement initiatives related to ISO and safety systems.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven experience in procurement/purchasing within the mechanical or manufacturing industry.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of market research & strategic sourcing and supply chain management practices.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems for procurement processes.
- Experience in team handling and leadership.
- Cost & Budget Management skill.
- Strong problem-solving & risk management skills.
