About the Role
We are seeking a Power Apps Developer to lead a strategic modernization initiative, transitioning legacy custom workflows into a modern, scalable Power Platform environment. This role bridges the gap between core SQL data and frontline workers, ensuring operational efficiency as the organization prepares for a future migration to a modern ERP.
Responsibilities
- App Development: Design and develop Canvas Apps that replace legacy scripting layers and custom workflows.
- Operational Modernization: Deliver guided user flows for floor operations, including self-service data entry, label reprinting/cancellation with audit trails, and live operational status views.
- Security & Governance: Implement role-based security where floor staff access only designated screens via service accounts, while admins retain override capabilities and management receives read-only dashboards.
- System Integration: Connect apps directly to internal SQL Servers using native connectors to handle controlled read/write operations for specific fields.
- Collaboration & Handoff: Document app architecture and connector configurations to ensure the internal team can maintain the solution after the initial delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Work Schedule: Mandatory overlap with US Central Time (6:00 PM – 10:00 PM IST) for client calls and stakeholder alignment. The remaining 4–5 hours are flexible during IST daytime hours.
- Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience developing Microsoft Power Apps, with a heavy focus on Canvas Apps.
- SQL Mastery: Strong SQL Server skills, including writing queries, working with stored procedures, and understanding relational data models.
- Connectivity: Proven experience building Power Apps connectors to SQL Server or ERP environments.
- Security Focus: Deep understanding of role-based access control (RBAC) and security models within the Power Platform.
- User-Centric Design: Experience designing simplified interfaces for non-technical end users, specifically factory or warehouse floor workers.
- Ecosystem Knowledge: Familiarity with the broader Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate, Dataverse, and Power BI.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) or Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Experience with data integration between manufacturing and ERP systems.
- Understanding of how Power Apps and Power BI draw from a shared SQL core to provide both operational input and management visibility.
