A Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting machinery and equipment used in carbon manufacturing processes to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on production equipment such as furnaces, mixers, conveyors, crushers, and presses
- Inspect mechanical systems to identify wear, damage, or potential failures
- Repair or replace faulty mechanical parts including bearings, belts, gears, pumps, and valves
- Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and minimize production downtime
- Assist with installation, alignment, and commissioning of new machines
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules and maintenance checklists
- Ensure compliance with safety rules, especially when working with high temperatures, dust, and heavy machinery
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report major issues to supervisors
- Work closely with electrical, production, and safety teams
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and manuals
- Experience with industrial maintenance tools and equipment
- Basic welding and fabrication skills (preferred)
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Awareness of industrial safety standards
