Job Summary:
A Plant & Machinery Maintenance Engineer in EPC construction is responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and eficiency of heavy construction equipment, Plant, machinery and Vehicles used in large-scale projects (roads, bridges, Warehouse, Buildings etc) The role focuses on preventive maintenance, breakdown management, and coordination with project teams to avoid delays.
Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of construction equipment/Plant and Vehicles.
Ensure minimal downtime and maximum equipment availability
Monitor machine performance and identify improvement opportunities
2. Troubleshooting & Repairs
Diagnose faults in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Carry out quick and elective breakdown repairs
Coordinate with OEM/Service Agencies to resolve issues promptly
3. Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
Develop and implement maintenance schedules based on project requirements
Plan shutdown maintenance for major equipment
Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure availability at site
4. Site Coordination (EPC Environment)
Coordinate with Project managers/ Site engineers/Procurement team
Ensure machinery availability aligns with construction schedules
5. Vendor & AMC Management
Liaise with OEMs and service providers for major repairs
Manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC)
Track vendor performance and service quality
6. Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with site safety standards and statutory regulations
Conduct equipment safety inspections
Promote safe maintenance practices at site
7. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain maintenance logs, reports, and equipment history
Track KPIs such as downtime, MTBF, and MTTR
Prepare reports for management review
8. Cost Control & Optimization
Monitor maintenance costs and fuel consumption
Implement lean maintenance practices and cost-saving initiatives
Reduce idle time and unnecessary repairs
Suggest modifications or upgrades to improve eficiency

Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in:
Mechanical Engineering/Automobile Engineering
Experience:
2–5 years (junior level)
Experience in industries like Construction, Logistics/Transporter, Heavy Engineering,
Automobile, Construction Equipment Manufacturing
