We are looking for Factory Head / Plant Head – Group Manufacturing (4 Divisions)
Location: Pune, Maharashtra (Khed City / Chakan / Talegaon Belt)
About the Role
Company is executing a major capacity expansion across its flagship Pune manufacturing hub. We are seeking an experienced, high-impact Factory Head / Plant Head to oversee unified production, quality, cost excellence, and safety across our four core industrial divisions:
- Industrial Enclosures & Electrical Panels (LT panels, switchgear enclosures)
- Material Handling & Racking Systems
- Modular Containers & Shelters (BESS containers, data-center modules)
- High-Precision Sheet Metal Fabrication (Laser, CNC bending, MIG/TIG welding, powder coating)
Reporting directly to the Group COO / President - Manufacturing, you will lead a 200+ member team, transition our operations into a high-volume/high-mix lean benchmark, and ensure $98\%+$ On-Time Delivery to key OEM, defense, power, and telecom clients.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Manufacturing: Direct all daily plant operations, shift scheduling, bottleneck resolution, and cross-divisional capacity sharing.
- Quality Management System (QMS) Ownership: Serve as Management Representative for ISO 9001; personally own quality KPIs, external audits, FMEAs, and customer complaint resolutions (TAT $\le7$ days).
- Continuous Improvement: Lead Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, SMED, and Kaizen initiatives across cells to improve OEE and lower scrap costs.
- Budget & Cost Control: Own the conversion cost budget (₹80Cr+), driving an annual unit production cost reduction of 8–12%.
- Safety & Compliance: Chair the plant safety committee, maintaining Zero Lost-Time Injuries (LTI) and ISO 14001 / 45001 compliance.
- Team Leadership: Manage recruitment, shift rosters, and skill matrix development for a 200+ workforce.
Must-Have Qualifications & Skills
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering (Mandatory).
- Experience: 18–25 years in heavy manufacturing, with at least 8 years as Plant Head / Factory Head managing a workforce of 200+.
- Process Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication, MIG/TIG/spot welding, and powder coating.
- Quality Ownership: Proven track record of personally owning ISO 9001 QMS and facing direct customer audits (purely production-only profiles will not be considered).
- Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt required (Black Belt strongly preferred); ISO 9001 Lead/Internal Auditor or Safety (NEBOSH/ADIS) preferred.
- Quantified Success: Ability to demonstrate clear baseline-to-result metrics (e.g., FPY improvement, cost reduction, volume growth).
- Languages: Fluency in English and Hindi (Marathi preferred).
Important Notes Before Applying (Disqualifiers)
- Location: Must be willing to be on-site full-time in the Pune plant (Khed/Chakan/Talegaon area)—this is not a corporate office role.
- Background: Candidates with experience only in light assembly, electronics, or FMCG will not be considered.
