Job Summary:
The Nursing Assistant provides basic patient care under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) or licensed practical nurses (LPNs). This role focuses on supporting patients with daily activities, ensuring comfort, and maintaining a safe and clean healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
- Help patients with mobility, including transferring, walking, and positioning
- Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure)
- Report changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- Maintain patient hygiene and ensure cleanliness of rooms and equipment
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
- Follow infection control and safety protocols
- Assist nurses with medical procedures as required
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
