Job Title: Field Sales Executive (FMCG Food)
Role Objective:
The Field Sales Executive (FSE) is responsible for driving sales growth, retail expansion, and brand visibility across the assigned territory. As the face of the company in the market, the FSE will ensure product availability, freshness, merchandising excellence, and strong retailer relationships while consistently achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Execution & Outlet Coverage -
· Execute the assigned Permanent Journey Plan (PJP) and cover 35–40 productive retail outlets daily.
· Generate secondary sales orders and ensure timely fulfilment through distributors.
· Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
· Maintain strong relationships with retailers to drive repeat business and brand loyalty.
Retail Expansion -
· Identify and onboard new retail outlets to expand market reach and distribution.
· Achieve monthly New Outlet Opening (NOO) targets.
· Increase product penetration across Kirana stores, standalone supermarkets, and general trade outlets.
Merchandising & Visibility -
· Ensure excellent in-store execution and product visibility.
· Implement merchandising standards through POS materials, displays, shelf strips, danglers, and promotional assets.
· Secure optimal shelf placement to maximize product visibility and sales.
Inventory & Freshness Management -
· Monitor stock levels and ensure continuous product availability.
· Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) practices to minimize expiry and product wastage.
· Coordinate with retailers and distributors to maintain healthy inventory levels.
Market Intelligence -
· Monitor competitor activities, pricing, promotions, and new product launches.
· Provide regular market feedback and business insights to management.
· Identify opportunities for growth within the assigned territory.
Distributor & Collection Management -
· Collaborate closely with distributor sales teams for market execution.
· Support collection activities and help resolve payment-related issues.
· Maintain healthy retailer and distributor relationships.
Reporting & Compliance -
· Ensure timely attendance marking, order booking, and reporting through SFA tools.
· Maintain accurate records of sales activities, outlet coverage, and market updates.
· Adhere to company policies and reporting guidelines.
Education and Experience:
· MBA/PGDM in Sales & Marketing preferred.
· 1 - 2 years of experience in FMCG retail sales.
· Mandatory experience in Food FMCG sales.
· Proven track record of achieving sales and distribution targets.
Skills:
· Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
· Good understanding of FMCG distribution and retail operations.
· Proficiency in Sales Force Automation (SFA) applications.
· Strong communication skills in Marathi and Hindi.
· Basic English communication skills preferred.
· Familiarity with Pune retail markets and trade channels.
