Job Summary
The Purchase Executive is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and ensuring the timely procurement of materials, products, and services required by the organisation. The role involves vendor management, cost negotiation, purchase order processing, inventory coordination, and maintaining procurement records while ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate the best commercial terms.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
- Monitor order status and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with internal departments to understand procurement requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and identify new sourcing opportunities.
- Verify invoices, delivery challans, and purchase documentation.
- Track inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to avoid stock shortages or excess inventory.
- Ensure purchased materials meet the required quality standards.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and vendor databases.
- Resolve issues related to delayed deliveries, quality concerns, or supplier performance.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and applicable regulations.
- Prepare procurement reports and support cost-saving initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 1–5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement (freshers may be considered for junior roles).
- Knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, Tally, or similar).
