The MEP Design Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, coordinating, and reviewing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. The role ensures that all MEP designs comply with applicable codes, client requirements, and project specifications while delivering efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Prepare detailed MEP designs, drawings, layouts, and specifications based on project requirements.
- Design HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, ELV, and utility systems as applicable.
- Coordinate MEP designs with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines.
- Perform engineering calculations, load calculations, equipment sizing, and system selection.
- Review tender documents, BOQs, technical specifications, and project drawings.
- Develop and review shop drawings, as-built drawings, and design revisions.
- Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, industry standards, and safety requirements.
- Participate in design review meetings with clients, consultants, and project teams.
- Resolve design-related technical issues during project execution.
- Support procurement by preparing material specifications and technical submittals.
- Evaluate vendor technical proposals and recommend suitable materials and equipment.
- Conduct site visits to verify design implementation and resolve engineering queries.

- Coordinate with project execution teams to ensure smooth implementation of approved designs.
- Maintain project documentation and revision control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3–8 years of experience in MEP design for commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and ELV system design is preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of Revit MEP and BIM coordination.
- Knowledge of HVAC load calculation software (HAP/Carrier or equivalent).
- Familiarity with MS Office applications.
- Understanding of relevant codes and standards such as NBC, IS Codes, NEC, IEC, ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, and local authority regulations.
- Ability to prepare BOQs, technical specifications, and material schedules.
