Job Summary
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for installation, commissioning, calibration, preventive
maintenance, and troubleshooting of electronic weighbridges and industrial weighing scales. The role
requires strong technical skills, customer service orientation, and willingness to travel to customer sites
across assigned regions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Service & Support
Install and commission electronic weighbridges, pit/pitless structures, load cells, indicators,
junction boxes, and weighing scales.
Diagnose and repair faults in load cells, instrumentation, cabling, power supplies, controllers,
and communication modules.
Perform calibration as per departmental and legal metrology standards.
Conduct preventive maintenance and health checks on installed weighing systems.
Configure software, terminals, printers, and networking interfaces (RS232, RS485, TCP/IP).
Ensure proper grounding, earthing, surge protection, and instrumentation safety.
Customer Interaction & Documentation
Provide on-site technical support and training to machine operators and customer teams.
Maintain service logs, installation reports, calibration certificates, and visit reports.
Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or factory support teams.
Ensure customer satisfaction and maintain strong professional relationships.
Compliance & Quality
Follow company service standards and safety guidelines.
Ensure all installations comply with Legal Metrology (Weights & Measures) regulations.
Maintain tools, test kits, multimeters, and calibration equipment in proper condition.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Diploma / B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related fields.
Experience in weighbridges, weighing scales, or industrial instrumentation preferred.
Strong knowledge of electronics, sensors, load cells, analog/digital signals, and microcontroller-
based devices.
Ability to read wiring diagrams, circuit diagrams, and mechanical layouts.
Familiarity with calibration procedures, weights, and industrial measurement standards.
Good communication skills and customer-handling ability.
Willingness to travel frequently and work in outdoor/industrial environments.
Basic computer skills for report writing and device configuration.

Hands-on approach with problem-solving mindset.
Ability to work independently and manage service schedules.
Knowledge of unmanned weighbridges, RFID, ANPR, or IoT-based weighing systems (added
advantage).
Valid two-wheeler license.
