Job Description: Network & IDP Engineer Department: Infrastructure & Operations / IT Reports To: Group Head of Infrastructure & Operations Role Purpose The Network/IDP Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, support, and continuous improvement of the organization’s network infrastructure and identity services. This role combines traditional network engineering responsibilities with ownership of identity provider (IDP) platforms and access controls, ensuring secure, resilient, and high-performing connectivity and authentication services across the enterprise. This role will play a key part in maintaining network availability, managing firewalls, switches, wireless and WAN/LAN services, while also administering identity and access management solutions such as SSO, MFA, federation, conditional access, and lifecycle access controls. The role is critical to ensuring secure user access to business systems, cloud services, and corporate infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Network Engineering Design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise network infrastructure, including: • LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, Switches, routers, firewalls, Wireless infrastructure (Meraki, UniFi, Palo Alto) • VPN and remote access technologies • Monitor network performance, capacity, availability, and resilience. • Diagnose and resolve network faults, outages, and performance issues. • Manage firewall rules, NAT, routing, VLANs, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, and IP address management. • Support network security improvements, including secure access controls, segmentation, traffic inspection, and zero trust principles. • Maintain documentation for network topology, standards, configurations, and support procedures. • Participate in change management, maintenance windows, patching, and upgrade activities. • Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning for network services. • Support vulnerability remediation and security controls across infrastructure
Identity Provider / IAM Responsibilities Administer and support enterprise identity platforms such as: Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD / Okta / Google • Okta • SAML / OAuth / OpenID Connect based services • Manage and support: o Single Sign-On (SSO) o Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) o Conditional Access policies o User provisioning / deprovisioning o Role-based access control (RBAC) o Identity lifecycle management • Integrate applications with IDP solutions to ensure secure and seamless authentication. • Troubleshoot identity, authentication, and access-related issues. • Support privileged access management and least-privilege access models. • Work closely with security teams to improve identity posture, enforce policy, and reduce cyber risk.
