Job Summary
The Assistant Accountant supports the finance department by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, preparing reports, and assisting with day-to-day accounting operations. The role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and knowledge of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documents.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Maintain petty cash records and monitor cash flow.
- Prepare invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
- Support budgeting and financial forecasting activities.
- Assist during internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
- Maintain organized financial files and records.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Tally).
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
