- A Project Team Member is an individual contributor responsible for executing specific tasks, creating deliverables, and applying their specialized expertise to achieve the project's overall goals. Unlike the project manager who oversees the entire initiative, a team member is a hands-on builder or subject matter expert (SME) who ensures the work is completed on time and up to quality standards.
- Key Responsibilities
- Execute Tasks: Produce technical deliverables and complete individual tasks within scope and budget.
- Provide Expertise: Apply domain-specific knowledge to guide technical decisions and validate requirements.
- Collaborate Daily: Work cross-functionally with peers to resolve dependencies and solve complex problems.
- Communicate Status: Report project progress, structural shifts, and immediate roadblocks directly to the project lead.
- Document Work: Maintain rigorous documentation of processes, system maps, and lessons learned.
- Engage in Ceremonies: Participate actively in sprint reviews, planning sessions, and team retrospectives.
- Support End-Users: Liaise with stakeholders to establish requirements and conduct user acceptance testing.
