Job Summary: The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors at [Hospital Name]. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing patient inquiries, and ensuring smooth administrative operations at the front desk of a multi specialty hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing them with necessary information and assistance.
- Appointment Management: Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring proper coordination with medical staff.
- Administrative Support: Perform clerical duties including filing, data entry, and managing patient records.
- Phone Management: Answer incoming calls, handle inquiries, and route calls to appropriate departments or staff.
- Insurance Verification: Collect and verify insurance information, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
- Billing Support: Assist with patient billing inquiries and provide information regarding payment options.
- Coordination: Collaborate with medical and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow and operations.
- Compliance: Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Problem Solving: Address patient concerns and complaints promptly, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Emergency Protocols: Assist in implementing emergency procedures when required.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.

- Proficient in using office equipment (phones, computers, fax machines).
