Job Summary
Pentoz Restaurant is seeking a skilled and experienced Chinese Cook / Chef to prepare authentic Chinese cuisine while maintaining high standards of food quality, taste, presentation, and hygiene. The ideal candidate should have expertise in wok cooking, sauces, and popular Chinese dishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of Chinese dishes including noodles, fried rice, soups, starters, and main courses.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all dishes.
- Prepare and manage sauces, marinades, and seasonings.
- Operate wok stations and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and workstations.
- Monitor inventory levels and inform management of ingredient requirements.
- Follow food safety standards and restaurant procedures.
- Assist in menu development and introducing new Chinese dishes.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Chinese Cook or Chef.
- Strong knowledge of Chinese cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
- Experience in preparing both vegetarian and non-vegetarian Chinese dishes.
- Ability to work efficiently during busy service hours.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hotels, restaurants, or specialty Chinese kitchens.
- Knowledge of Indo-Chinese cuisine is an added advantage.
- Ability to train and guide junior kitchen staff.
