OT Nurse – Roles & ResponsibilitiesPre-Operative Responsibilities
- Prepare the operation theatre before surgeries.
- Ensure all surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterilized and available.
- Check functioning of OT equipment such as monitors, suction machines, cautery, and anesthesia machines.
- Verify patient identity, consent forms, surgical site, and pre-operative checklist.
- Assist in positioning the patient safely on the operating table.
Intra-Operative Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and the surgical team during procedures.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgery.
- Hand over instruments, sutures, and supplies to the surgeon as required.
- Monitor aseptic techniques and infection control practices.
- Keep accurate count of instruments, sponges, needles, and other surgical items before, during, and after surgery.
- Observe the patient’s condition and report any abnormalities immediately.
Post-Operative Responsibilities
- Assist in transferring the patient to the recovery room or ICU.
- Monitor immediate post-operative condition and vital signs.
- Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste as per hospital protocols.
- Clean and prepare the OT for the next procedure.
- Document surgical procedures, counts, medications used, and patient records.
Infection Control & Safety
- Follow NABH/JCI infection control standards.
- Ensure proper sterilization and disinfection of instruments.
- Adhere to hand hygiene and PPE protocols.
- Report any breach in sterility or safety hazards.
Coordination & Administrative Duties
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, ward nurses, and CSSD.
- Maintain OT inventory and stock of consumables.
- Assist in scheduling and managing surgical cases.
- Participate in emergency and trauma surgeries when required.

Pay: ₹10,635.80 - ₹25,775.20 per month
