Job Summary
Saraswathy Multi-Speciality Hospital is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our diagnostic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analysing patient samples while ensuring accurate test results and maintaining laboratory quality standards. Lab technicians typically handle specimen collection, laboratory testing, documentation, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Collect, label, and process blood, urine, and other patient specimens.
- Perform routine laboratory tests in hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and serology.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and analysers.
- Record and report test results accurately and promptly.
- Follow laboratory SOPs, quality control procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Maintain laboratory records and documentation.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of biomedical waste.
- Coordinate with doctors and healthcare staff regarding test reports and urgent findings.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT/BMLT) or equivalent.
- Relevant laboratory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment and diagnostic procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in shifts if required.
