Job Title: Primary School English & Maths Teacher (Grades 1–5)
Job Summary: We are seeking a versatile, energetic, and nurturing Primary School English & Maths Teacher to join our elementary faculty. The ideal candidate will possess a strong dual competency: cultivating early literacy (phonics, reading, and grammar) while simultaneously building foundational math skills (place value, basic operations, and word problems). You will be responsible for creating an engaging, activity-based classroom environment where young learners develop both communication confidence and analytical thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dual Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver structured lessons in both English Language Arts and Mathematics in accordance with school board guidelines (e.g., Cambridge).
- Foundational Literacy: Teach phonics, vocabulary expansion, sentence structure, reading comprehension, and creative writing.
- Early Numeracy & Math: Introduce abstract mathematical concepts using concrete objects, visual models, manipulatives, and daily mental math exercises.
- Activity-Based Learning: Design and execute interactive classroom activities, educational games, and worksheets that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Student Assessment: Conduct formative and summative assessments, tracking individual progress in reading fluency and mathematical problem-solving.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a warm, encouraging, positive, and organized classroom atmosphere that balances fun with academic focus.
- Parent Collaboration: Communicate regularly with parents during parent-teacher meetings regarding academic strengths and areas needing improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.Sc., or B.Com) from a recognized university.
- Professional Certification: A mandatory B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education), D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education), or equivalent primary teaching certification.
- Experience: Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience teaching both English and Mathematics to primary school students.
