1. Job Purpose
The Safety Supervisor (HSE) is responsible for ensuring safe working conditions at the project site and supporting the implementation of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards.
The role will focus on daily site safety supervision, hazard identification, PPE compliance, worker health and safety awareness, environmental housekeeping, permit compliance and timely reporting of unsafe conditions, incidents and near misses.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Health & Safety Management
· Conduct daily HSE inspections across the project site.
· Identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and potential hazards.
· Ensure workers and subcontractors follow company and client HSE requirements.
· Ensure mandatory PPE is properly used by all personnel.
· Monitor work-at-height, scaffolding, ladder, lifting, electrical, hot-work and material-handling activities.
· Ensure proper barricading, warning signs and safe access/egress.
· Monitor housekeeping and maintain safe working areas.
· Immediately report critical safety violations to the HSE Engineer / Project Manager.
· Follow up on corrective actions until closure.
B. HSE Induction & Training
· Conduct HSE induction for new workers, employees and subcontractors.
· Conduct daily/regular toolbox talks.
· Explain safe working procedures and hazards to workers.
· Conduct PPE awareness and safety campaigns.
· Maintain records of safety inductions, toolbox talks and training programs.
C. Permit-to-Work (PTW)
· Assist in implementation of the Permit-to-Work system.
· Check that required permits are available before hazardous work starts.
· Monitor permits for:
o Hot Work
o Work at Height
o Electrical Work
o Confined Space
o Lifting Activities
o Other project-specific hazardous activities
· Ensure permit conditions are followed at the work location.
D. Health & Occupational Safety
· Monitor basic workplace health and hygiene conditions.
· Ensure drinking water, sanitation and welfare facilities are maintained.
· Ensure first-aid facilities are readily available.
· Report unsafe health conditions such as excessive dust, poor ventilation, excessive noise or unsafe hygiene conditions.
· Support emergency medical response whenever required.
· Coordinate with the responsible team for worker health and welfare requirements.
E. Environment
· Monitor site housekeeping and waste segregation.
· Ensure proper disposal of construction and general waste.
· Prevent unnecessary dust, debris and material accumulation.
· Monitor environmental issues such as dust, noise, water leakage and improper waste disposal.
· Report environmental non-compliances to the HSE Engineer / Site Management.
· Support implementation of project environmental requirements.
F. Incident & Emergency Management
· Immediately report accidents, near misses and unsafe incidents.
· Assist the HSE Engineer during incident investigations.
· Preserve relevant information/evidence after incidents as instructed.
· Participate in emergency response activities.
· Support fire evacuation and emergency drills.
· Ensure emergency exits and access routes remain clear.
· Maintain awareness of emergency contact numbers and procedures.
G. Documentation & Reporting
· Maintain daily HSE inspection records.
· Maintain toolbox talk records.
· Maintain worker induction records.
· Maintain PPE inspection records.
· Maintain safety observation reports.
· Maintain near-miss and incident records.
· Prepare daily/weekly HSE updates as required.
· Track open safety observations and corrective actions.
H. Subcontractor & Worker Coordination
· Monitor subcontractor compliance with HSE requirements.
· Coordinate with supervisors and foremen regarding safe work practices.
· Stop unsafe work when there is an immediate risk to life or serious injury, and escalate to the concerned authority.
· Ensure workers understand the safety requirements before starting activities.
· Encourage workers to report hazards and near misses.
3. Qualification
· Diploma / Degree in Safety, Industrial Safety, Fire & Safety, Engineering or relevant discipline.
· Diploma / Certificate in Industrial Safety or HSE will be preferred.
· NEBOSH / IOSH or equivalent certification will be an added advantage.
4. Experience
2–5 years of relevant experience in construction, MEP, cleanroom, industrial, infrastructure or project-site HSE.
Experience working with subcontractors and client/site safety teams will be preferred.

· Basic knowledge of HSE management systems.

· Basic JSA / Risk Assessment knowledge.

8. Location
Hyderabad / Vadodara
The candidate should be willing to work at project sites and travel as required by project activities.
9. Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be a proactive and disciplined HSE professional with strong site-level safety supervision skills. The candidate should be capable of identifying hazards, ensuring PPE and PTW compliance, conducting toolbox talks, maintaining HSE records, supporting emergency response and promoting good health, safety and environmental practices among workers and subcontractors.
10. Preferred Advantage
Preference will be given to candidates having:
· Cleanroom / MEP project experience.
· Industrial / pharmaceutical project experience.
· L&T or other major client project exposure.
· NEBOSH / IOSH certification.
· Experience in client HSE audits.
· Experience managing subcontractor safety.
