Accounts Manager – Job Description

Position Summary
The Accounts Manager is responsible for managing the company’s financial records, banking transactions, statutory compliance, receivables, payables, inventory accounting, and financial reporting. The role requires close coordination with management, auditors, banks, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
* Maintain accurate books of accounts in accounting software (such as Tally).
* Record all sales, purchases, receipts, payments, journal entries, and bank transactions.
* Perform daily accounting and ledger reconciliation.
* Prepare monthly profit & loss statements and balance sheets.
2. Banking Operations
* Manage OD (Overdraft) accounts and working capital transactions.
* Process NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, and cheque payments.
* Prepare bank reconciliation statements.
* Coordinate with banks regarding renewals, limits, documentation, and loan compliance.
* Maintain banking records and finance-related documents.
3. GST & Statutory Compliance
* Prepare and verify GST data.
* Coordinate with the Chartered Accountant for filing GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, Annual Return, and other statutory returns.
* Reconcile GSTR-2B with purchase registers.
* Resolve GST mismatches and maintain compliance records.
* Assist during GST audits and departmental notices.
4. Accounts Receivable
* Generate tax invoices and e-invoices where applicable.
* Track customer outstanding balances.
* Follow up with customers for timely collections.
* Prepare ageing reports and collection status reports.
* Maintain customer account statements.
5. Accounts Payable
* Verify supplier invoices.
* Schedule supplier payments.
* Maintain vendor ledgers.
* Reconcile supplier accounts regularly.
* Ensure timely payments while maintaining healthy cash flow.
6. Inventory & Cost Control
* Record purchase and consumption of roofing materials.
* Reconcile stock with physical inventory.
* Monitor inventory valuation.
* Assist management in controlling material costs and wastage.
7. Financial Reporting
* Prepare daily cash flow reports.
* Prepare weekly and monthly MIS reports.
* Monitor business expenses and profitability.
* Provide financial analysis to management for decision-making.
8. Payroll & Administration
* Process employee salaries and statutory deductions.
* Maintain attendance and payroll records.
* Keep employee reimbursement records.
9. Documentation
* Maintain digital and physical records of invoices, bank documents, agreements, quotations, purchase orders, and statutory documents.
* Ensure proper filing and retrieval of financial records.
10. Audit Coordination
* Coordinate with Chartered Accountants, statutory auditors, GST consultants, and bank auditors.
* Prepare schedules and supporting documents for audits.
* Ensure timely compliance with audit observations.
Skills Required
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
* Excellent knowledge of GST and taxation.
* Experience in Tally Prime and Microsoft Excel.
* Good understanding of banking procedures and working capital finance.
* Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
* Good communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualification
* B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA Inter or equivalent.
* 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the roofing, steel, manufacturing, or building materials industry.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
