About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and technically skilled Robotics Trainer to conduct hands-on robotics and STEM training for students. The trainer will teach robotics concepts through practical activities, experiments, projects, and real-world applications.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with students, explaining technical concepts in a simple manner, and guiding learners to design, build, program, test, and improve their own robotic systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging, hands-on robotics training sessions for students.
- Teach basic to advanced concepts of robotics, electronics, mechanics, sensors, and programming.
- Guide students in assembling, wiring, programming, testing, and troubleshooting robotic projects.
- Conduct project-based and activity-based learning sessions.
- Explain concepts such as:
- Robotics fundamentals
- Mechanical systems
- Electronics and circuits
- Sensors and actuators
- Motors and motor drivers
- Microcontrollers
- Automation
- Basic programming
- Robot movement and control
- Problem-solving and engineering design
- Work with platforms such as Arduino, micro:bit, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, LEGO robotics, robotics kits, or similar platforms.
- Teach programming languages/tools relevant to the robotics curriculum, such as Arduino C/C++, Python, Scratch, block-based programming, etc.
- Help students design and develop robots such as line-following robots, obstacle-avoiding robots, robotic arms, automated systems, and other STEM projects.
- Encourage students to apply design thinking, computational thinking, engineering thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Provide guidance during competitions, exhibitions, demonstrations, and robotics projects.
- Assess student learning through practical activities, assignments, projects, and assessments.
- Maintain attendance, student progress, assessment records, and training reports where required.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of robotics kits, tools, and equipment.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, wiring, and programming issues during sessions.
- Use real-life examples and applications of robotics to make learning practical and engaging.
- Adapt training methods according to students' age, grade, and skill level.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma/Certification in Robotics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, STEM Education, or a related field.
- Strong practical knowledge of robotics and electronics.
- Experience with microcontrollers and robotics platforms.
- Basic to advanced programming knowledge relevant to robotics.
- Good understanding of sensors, motors, circuits, actuators, and control systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and classroom-management skills.
- Ability to conduct hands-on and project-based training.
- Previous experience in robotics training, teaching, mentoring, or robotics projects is preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Experience teaching school students from Grades 1–12.
- Experience working with STEM/ATL/Robotics Labs.
- Knowledge of Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, micro:bit, LEGO, Tinkercad, or similar platforms.
- Experience in robotics competitions and project mentoring.
- Knowledge of IoT, automation, AI, computer vision, or advanced robotics is an advantage.
- Ability to develop lesson plans, activity sheets, project guides, and assessments.
- Ability to explain complex engineering concepts using simple language and practical demonstrations.
- Willingness to travel to schools or training centres when required.
