IP DRG Auditor / Inpatient Coding Auditor
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented IP DRG Auditor/Coder to join our healthcare operations team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Inpatient DRG coding and auditing, with the ability to ensure coding accuracy, compliance, and productivity while adhering to organizational and client-specific standards.
Key Skills & Abilities
- Auditing experience in IP DRG coding
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Exposure to 3M software and NLP tools
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and quality focus
- Flexibility to adapt to project requirements and process changes
Roles & Responsibilities
- Follow every aspect of the SOP without fail
- Complete assigned audits with high quality and accuracy
- Achieve defined quality and productivity targets
- Adhere to all project-related protocols and instructions
- Escalate issues promptly and identify process trends or gaps
- Maintain and update daily logs, including:
- Productivity logs
- Clarification logs
- Any other applicable project logs
- Seek clarification from Manager/TL whenever required
- Respond promptly to all communication and emails from Managers
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OIG, and organizational policies
- Maintain confidentiality and data security standards at all times
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams to improve audit outcomes
Qualifications
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science
Certifications (Mandatory)
- CCS – Certified Coding Specialist
- CIC – Certified Inpatient Coder
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in IP DRG coding or auditing
