Responsibilities of a Jr. QS & Billing Engineer1. Quantity Surveying (QS) Duties
- Prepare and review BOQs (Bills of Quantities) based on project drawings and specifications.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and material estimation from civil and structural drawings.
- Assist in rate analysis and cost estimation for various construction activities.
- Support in budget preparation and monitoring project costs against actuals.
2. Billing & Financial Control
- Prepare and verify contractor bills and client invoices.
- Ensure accurate certification of bills before submission.
- Assist in vendor billing and invoice verification to avoid discrepancies.
- Track payment schedules and maintain billing records.
3. Bar Bending Schedule (BBS) & Material Management
- Prepare and review BBS for reinforcement steel.
- Monitor steel consumption and reconcile material usage at RA (Running Account) bill stages.
- Conduct material reconciliation to ensure cost efficiency and prevent wastage.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain records of billing, BOQs, and cost estimates.
- Generate progress reports for management on billing status and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with contractual and project documentation standards.
- Education: BE/Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: Typically 2–3 years in QS and billing roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD,
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and communication skills.
