Job Overview
We are seeking a versatile and highly creative 3D Product Designer & Sculptor to join our design team. This unique role bridges the gap between mechanical engineering and digital art. You will be responsible for taking concepts from loose sketches or organic references and turning them into highly detailed, visually stunning 3D sculpts, as well as production-ready, parametric SolidWorks models.
Whether you are looking for a stable Full-Time career or a flexible Part-Time arrangement, we have a space for a talented designer who cares equally about aesthetic beauty and manufacturing reality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organic Digital Sculpting: Create high-fidelity organic shapes, characters, textures, or ergonomic surfaces using digital sculpting software.
- Parametric CAD Modeling: Translate organic designs or rough engineering concepts into precise, production-ready 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Ensure models are optimized for specific manufacturing processes, including injection molding, 3D printing (SLA/FDM), CNC machining, or casting.
- Collaborative Prototyping: Work closely with engineering and product teams to integrate internal mechanical components into sculpted external enclosures.
- Rendering & Visualization: Generate high-quality photo-realistic renderings for presentations, marketing, and design reviews.
- File Optimization: Manage complex file conversions (e.g., converting heavy mesh/STL files from sculpting software into usable surfaces or solids in SolidWorks).
Technical Software Mastery:
- SolidWorks: Advanced proficiency in parametric modeling, complex surfacing, assembly management, and creating 2D engineering drawings.
- 3D Sculpting Tools: Expert knowledge in ZBrush, Blender, or Autodesk Mudbox for organic shape generation.
- Rendering: Proficiency in Keyshot, Blender Cycles, or SolidWorks Visualize.
Design & Engineering Acumen:
- Strong understanding of draft angles, parting lines, wall thickness, and tolerances for manufacturing.
- Excellent spatial awareness and a deep understanding of form, anatomy, ergonomics, and aesthetics.
- Ability to work with mesh data (STLs, OBJs) and convert them efficiently into CAD-friendly formats (STP/IGS).
Soft Skills:
- Strong portfolio showcasing both mechanical/industrial design projects (SolidWorks) and artistic/organic models (Sculpting).
- Great time management skills—especially critical for part-time team members balancing project milestones.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu (Coimbatore)
