Job Summary
The Facility Executive – Mechanical & Electrical is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, preventive maintenance, and repair of all mechanical and electrical systems across restaurant outlets. The role focuses on maximizing equipment uptime, ensuring statutory compliance, maintaining safety standards, and coordinating with vendors to provide uninterrupted operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of all mechanical and electrical equipment across restaurant outlets.
- Maintain and troubleshoot kitchen equipment such as ovens, combi ovens, refrigerators, freezers, chillers, dishwashers, coffee machines, exhaust systems, and other food service equipment.
- Monitor electrical systems, including HT/LT panels, DG sets, UPS, transformers, lighting, and power distribution systems.
- Ensure the smooth functioning of HVAC systems, ventilation units, air conditioners, and refrigeration equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections of plumbing, water supply systems, pumps, drainage, and utility services.
- Coordinate with external vendors and AMC service providers for repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain maintenance schedules, service records, equipment history, and asset documentation.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, fire safety requirements, and statutory maintenance standards.
- Monitor utility consumption (electricity, water, diesel, LPG) and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
- Attend emergency maintenance calls and ensure minimal downtime during restaurant operating hours.
- Support new restaurant setup activities, including installation, commissioning, and testing of equipment.
- Verify contractor work quality and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
- Maintain adequate inventory of critical spares and maintenance consumables.
- Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards during maintenance activities.
- Prepare maintenance reports, equipment performance analysis, and monthly MIS.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and restaurant kitchen machinery.
- Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Good understanding of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and utility systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults efficiently.
- Knowledge of safety standards, statutory compliance, and fire protection systems.
- Vendor management and coordination skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and maintenance reporting.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
Qualification
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in electrical safety or facility maintenance will be an added advantage.
Preferred Experience
- 5–7 years of experience in facility maintenance within the restaurant, hospitality, hotel, retail, or food manufacturing industry.
- Hands-on experience with commercial kitchen equipment and building utilities.
- Experience in handling multiple restaurant outlets is preferred.
