Job Summary
The Dental Assistant is responsible for supporting the dentist during dental procedures, preparing and maintaining the dental operatory, assisting with patient care, and ensuring proper sterilization and infection-control procedures. The role requires good communication, attention to detail, cleanliness, and the ability to work efficiently in a clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Chairside Assistance
- Assist the dentist during dental examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Prepare and arrange required instruments, materials, and equipment before procedures.
- Hand over instruments and materials to the dentist as required.
- Assist with suction, retraction, and other chairside procedures.
- Support the dentist during emergency situations when required.
2. Patient Care
- Welcome and assist patients before, during, and after dental procedures.
- Help patients understand basic procedure-related instructions as directed by the dentist.
- Maintain patient comfort and provide appropriate assistance during treatment.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and records.
3. Sterilization & Infection Control
- Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and properly store dental instruments.
- Follow clinic infection-control and sterilization protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the dental chair and treatment area.
- Ensure proper disposal of biomedical and clinical waste as per applicable procedures.
4. Equipment & Material Management
- Check dental instruments, equipment, and consumables before procedures.
- Maintain adequate stock of dental materials and supplies.
- Inform the concerned person about shortages, damaged equipment, or required replacements.
- Ensure instruments and equipment are properly cleaned and stored after use.
5. Documentation & Support
- Assist in maintaining patient records and treatment-related documentation.
- Support appointment preparation and coordination when required.
- Maintain daily records related to sterilization, equipment, and consumables where applicable.
- Coordinate with the reception and other departments for smooth patient flow.
6. General Responsibilities
- Follow clinic policies, procedures, attendance rules, and professional standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional working environment.
- Maintain respectful and professional communication with patients, doctors, and colleagues.
- Perform other dental-assistance duties assigned by the dentist or management.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / Certificate in Dental Assisting or a relevant qualification preferred.
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred.
- Freshers with relevant training may also be considered.
- Basic knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization, and infection-control procedures.
Required Skills

- Ability to work as part of a clinical team.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹14,000.61 per month
