About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Academic Counsellor to support student admissions and engagement for a leading private medical university client. In this role, you will be the first point of guidance for students and parents navigating the transition from high school to higher education — shaping their academic journey from the very first conversation.
Position: Academic Counsellor / Education Counsellor
Location: Financial District, Hyderabad
Work Mode: 6 Days Work From Office (Week Off: Sunday)
Experience: 3–4 Years
Key Responsibilities
- Guide students through the transition from high school to university, covering admissions processes, course selection, financial aid, and academic planning.
- Conduct structured counselling sessions with students and parents, providing personalised and empathetic guidance.
- Manage a daily schedule of appointments, follow-ups, and student interactions with consistency.
- Understand individual student learning needs and tailor guidance accordingly.
- Address student and parent concerns effectively and support informed enrolment decisions.
- Work towards and exceed counselling and admissions targets.
- Stay current with industry knowledge, institutional updates, and evolving counselling best practices.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with students, parents, teachers, and key stakeholders.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Counselling, Education, Psychology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 3–4 years of experience in education counselling or a comparable student-facing advisory role.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.
- Ability to mentor, motivate, and guide students of varying academic backgrounds.
- Solid understanding of student and parent decision-making behaviour.
- Proficiency in English, Hindi, and Telugu is mandatory. Tamil proficiency is an added advantage.
