Role Overview
As a Senior Interior Designer , you will lead residential interior projects from concept to completion, creating homes that balance functionality, aesthetics, and everyday living. Working closely with homeowners, you'll understand their lifestyle, guide them through key design decisions, and translate their vision into thoughtful interior solutions. This role combines creativity, technical expertise, client relationship management, and project coordination to deliver exceptional homes and experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Client Consultation & Design Discovery
- Understand clients' lifestyles, functional needs, design preferences, budgets, and project expectations through consultations and site visits.
- Build strong client relationships through professional communication, transparency, and expert guidance.
- Present design concepts, layouts, materials, furniture selections, and incorporate client feedback into refined design solutions.
Design Development
- Develop thoughtful residential interior concepts aligned with Nestora's design philosophy.
- Prepare space plans, furniture layouts, elevations, working drawings, and construction documentation.
- Design custom furniture, storage solutions, mood boards, material palettes, and lighting concepts.
- Ensure every design balances functionality, comfort, aesthetics, and long -term usability.
Material & Product Expertise
- Recommend suitable materials, finishes, fixtures, furnishings, and accessories based on functionality, durability, maintenance, and client lifestyle.
- Prepare detailed material specifications and stay updated on emerging materials, products, and industry trends.
Project Coordination
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, vendors, consultants, and execution teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review drawings, conduct regular site visits, resolve technical challenges, and ensure execution aligns with approved designs and Nestora's quality standards.
Client Experience
- Deliver an exceptional client experience through proactive communication, transparency, and timely updates.
- Simplify design decisions with practical recommendations and resolve client queries professionally.
- Build long -term client relationships through trust, responsiveness, and service excellence.
Design Excellence
- Maintain high standards of creativity, detailing, documentation, and presentation across all projects. Mentor junior designers and contribute to design reviews and knowledge sharing.
- Manage multiple residential interior projects simultaneously while ensuring quality, timelines, and client satisfaction.
- Continuously improve design processes while contributing innovative ideas to the studio.
Skills & Competencies
- Technical: Space Planning, Interior Design, Material Selection, Furniture Design, Working
- Drawings, Site & Vendor Coordination, AutoCAD & Design Software.
- Behavioural: Client Management, Communication, Creativity, Problem Solving, Attention to Detail, Teamwork, Ownership & Time Management.
Software Proficiency
Candidates should be proficient in:
- AutoCAD
- Adobe Photoshop
- Enscape / Lumion / V - Ray
- Google Workspace

Knowledge of Revit or BIM software will be an added advantage.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Interior Design or Architecture.
Experience
- 8–12 years of experience in residential interior design.
- Demonstrated experience leading residential interior projects from concept to completion.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, furniture detailing, and site execution.
- Experience coordinating with contractors, consultants, vendors, and project execution teams.
- A strong portfolio showcasing residential interiors, space planning, and personalized design solutions is essential.
Work Schedule
Location: Borivali, Mumbai
- Working Days: Monday to Saturday (9:30 AM – 6:30 PM) / Six days a week, as per the
company roster.
- Working Hours: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM
- Weekly Off: One weekly off on a rotational basis, scheduled on a weekday , as per the
company roster.
- Weekend Working: Sundays will be working days based on client appointments, site visits and
business requirements. Weekly offs will be scheduled on alternate weekdays.
