We are seeking an experienced senior electrical engineering leader to lead the development of battery formation and chemistry research systems while building and managing a high-performing electrical systems engineering team. The role combines deep technical expertise with people leadership, cross-functional execution, and strategic planning.
- Lead, coach, and grow the Electrical Systems Engineering team; set technical direction, manage performance, define career development plans, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
- Act as the primary liaison between Electrical Systems Engineering and senior R&D leadership, translating technical progress into business-relevant decisions.
- Lead an agile team to develop systems for battery formation and research.
- Plan and manage complex engineering projects for chemistry research.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with global R&D, electrochemistry, manufacturing, and operations teams.
- Regularly communicate plans, priorities, risks, and status with business leaders.
- Make high-impact technical decisions in a fast-paced R&D environment, balancing current product needs with future technology development.
- Travel up to 15% to support development, supplier engagement, and global collaboration.
- Architect and design circuits and systems for battery research, testing, and manufacturing.
- Architect, model, analyze, and develop custom electronics including circuit design, firmware, and software.
- Model, analyze, and develop control algorithms for power control and management.
- Architect and develop test and calibration systems for custom battery formation and research platforms.
- Coordinate with suppliers.
- Own the technical roadmap for electrical research platforms and ensure engineering best practices are consistently applied.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, or related field.
- 15+ years of industry experience developing complex electronic systems.
- At least 5 years of experience leading engineering teams.
- Strong leadership, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of battery and battery chemistry.
- Expertise in circuit design, embedded systems, embedded C, Python, control theory, power electronics, digital signal processing, and PC application development.
