The Flight Data Analyst plays a critical role in enhancing aviation safety, operational efficiency, and performance by meticulously collecting, processing, and analyzing vast amounts of flight data. This position involves leveraging advanced analytical techniques and specialized software to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement in flight operations. - Collect, process, and validate raw flight data from various sources, including Flight Data Recorders (FDR), Quick Access Recorders (QAR), and other aircraft systems.
- Perform in-depth analysis of flight data to identify deviations from standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety events, and operational inefficiencies.
- Develop and maintain Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) / Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) programs, including event definitions and thresholds.
- Generate comprehensive reports and dashboards summarizing flight performance, safety trends, and operational metrics for management and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with flight operations, safety, engineering, and maintenance departments to investigate incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Utilize statistical methods and predictive modeling to forecast potential risks and optimize flight parameters.
- Present complex analytical findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of all flight data and analytical outputs.
- Stay current with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and advancements in flight data analysis technologies.
