We are looking for a creative and hands‑on Mechanical Design Engineer with strong fundamentals and real-world exposure to plastic and sheet metal product design. The ideal candidate should be passionate about design, problem‑solving, and developing products from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Concept generation for new mechanical products
- 3D modeling and detailed drawings using CAD tools (SolidWorks / Creo)
- Design and development of plastic components (drafts, ribs, bosses, DFM for molding)
- Design and development of sheet metal components (bends, reliefs, manufacturability)
- Stackup analysis
- GD&T knowledge
- Creating assemblies, BOM, GD&T, and engineering documentation
- Working with vendors for manufacturing feasibility
- Supporting prototyping, testing, and design improvements
- Participating in product development from idea to production launch
Required Skills
- Strong in Product design
- Strong understanding of mechanical fundamentals
- Good knowledge of plastic & sheet metal design guidelines
- Strong Mechanical calculations
- Experience in creating concept models and translating ideas into manufacturable designs
- Experience in creating 2D drawings with proper tolerancing (GD&T)
- Familiarity with DFM / DFA considerations
- Basic understanding of materials (metals & engineering plastics)
- Good communication and problem-solving mindset
Good to Have
- Experience with injection molding or sheet metal vendors
- Exposure to prototype development (3D printing, machining)
- Understanding of basic FEA or simulation
- Hands-on involvement in at least one product development cycle
