Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced 4G LTE / NB-IoT Layer-2 Developer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in LTE Layer-2 protocol development, including MAC, RLC, and PDCP, with a solid understanding of LTE/NB-IoT and 5G NR architectures. This role involves developing protocol stack features, optimizing network performance, debugging complex issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality wireless communication solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain LTE/NB-IoT Layer-2 protocol features, including eDRX, PSM, and Coverage Enhancement.
- Develop and optimize MAC layer scheduling algorithms, resource allocation, and Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Layer-2 protocol issues using logs, traces, and protocol analyzers.
- Collaborate with Layer-1 and Layer-3 teams for seamless end-to-end feature integration.
- Ensure implementation complies with applicable 3GPP standards (Release 15/16/17/18).
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, design documentation, and test planning.
- Improve system throughput, latency, and overall network reliability.
- Support interoperability testing, field testing, and customer issue resolution.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in LTE protocol stack development.
- Strong understanding of LTE/NB-IoT and 5G NR architecture and protocol stack.
- Hands-on experience in LTE Layer-2 (MAC, RLC, PDCP) development.
- Good knowledge of 3GPP Release 15/16/17/18 specifications.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++.
- Experience with multithreading and concurrent programming.
- Excellent debugging and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Wireshark, protocol analyzers, and log analysis tools.
- Working knowledge of Git, Jenkins (CI/CD), and JIRA.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with hardware-based testing tools such as TM500 or UE Simulators.
- Familiarity with protocol analysis tools such as QXDM and QCAT.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
