Job Summary
The Civil Head will be responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and successfully handing over all civil projects undertaken by the company. The role requires ensuring timely completion, cost control, quality assurance, and compliance with all technical and statutory requirements while coordinating with consultants, contractors, and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning
- Prepare project execution plans, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Review architectural, structural, and service drawings before execution.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, and management during the planning stage.
- Prepare and review BOQs, cost estimates, and project budgets.
- Plan material procurement and manpower requirements.
- Identify project risks and recommend mitigation measures.
- Ensure all required approvals and documentation are in place before project commencement.
2. Construction & Execution
- Supervise all site construction activities from foundation to finishing.
- Ensure work is completed according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of milestones.
- Manage contractors, subcontractors, site engineers, and labour teams.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks.
- Monitor material usage and control wastage.
- Verify measurements, contractor bills, and work completion reports.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory regulations.
- Coordinate with procurement, accounts, legal, and management for smooth project execution.
- Submit regular progress reports to management.
3. Project Handover
- Conduct final quality inspections before project completion.
- Prepare snag lists and ensure all defects are rectified.
- Verify completion of all civil works as per approved specifications.
- Coordinate with internal departments for project documentation.
- Ensure all completion certificates, drawings, and records are properly maintained.
- Oversee smooth handover of completed projects to clients or the operations team.
- Resolve post-handover civil issues during the defect liability period, if applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Civil Engineering.
- Diploma in Civil
- Additional certifications in Project Management or Construction Management will be an advantage
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in civil construction and project execution.
- Minimum 3 years of experience leading construction projects.
- Experience in residential, commercial, plotted developments, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
