Summary:
Provides project management, design expertise, and team leadership for engineering projects; ensures that
implementation and associated activities are carried out in accordance with specified objections
Responsibilities:
• Supervises, trains, evaluates and motivates a Design, Engineering or Construction team and various support staff
• Establishes overall scope, direction and priorities for each project, based upon Company guidelines and manages
the project accordingly
• Encourages consistent project management and design processes and identifies process changes to improve
efficiency, effectiveness and customer satisfaction; makes recommendations accordingly
• Maintains program management information, and communicates program status and activities with internal and
external partners
• Oversees program related initiatives and manages relationships with internal and external partners. Resolves
conflicts as they arise
• Collaborates with internal and external partners to ensure customer needs are met by reviewing requirements,
statuses and associated issues in support of programs affecting engineering and design projects
• Initiates timely communication of critical events that will affect schedule or budget; provides updates to appropriate
internal and external partners
• Communicates expectations, statuses and changes to appropriate stakeholders
• Develops plans and schedules for projects within the program based upon customer requirements; initiates
related activities
• Prepares reports on progress and manages cost forecasts by monitoring cost performance and detecting plan
variances
• Coordinates design, engineering or construction activities; manages other resources to support programs
• Serves as a liaison between the customer and support groups
• Develops strategies, procedures, and specifications which will be used to facilitate construction and create
detailed construction documents
• Investigates, evaluates, and reports recommendations for the use of engineered equipment and materials
• Evaluates current design standards and makes recommendations for design process improvements
• Ensures that work, prepared by the department, is accurate and complete
• Reviews specifications for equipment, equipment installation, and construction
• Completes other duties, including special projects, as assigned by Management
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent education and experience
• Professional Engineering Licensure preferred
