About the role
As a Project Manager focused in Data Centres, you will lead teams of Technicians delivering structured cabling, fibre, and communications infrastructure within live data centre and controlled environments. You will be responsible for end-to-end project delivery, including planning, execution, safety, and financial performance across multiple data centres sites. Additionally, you’ll handle engineering tasks, pricing, and project tracking while fostering team growth through clear communication, task delegation, and ongoing support to drive successful project outcomes.
Key responsibilities
Planning and Management of Projects

Establish clear project objectives, deliverables, and requirements in collaboration with stakeholders. Define the project’s scope to ensure all activities align with organisational goals.

Develop detailed project timelines, setting milestones and deadlines for key deliverables. Regularly assess progress to ensure adherence to the schedule.

Monitor project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and resources are utilised efficiently. Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality or safety.

Ensure the appropriate allocation of personnel, equipment, and materials. Track resource usage to prevent over-expenditure or resource shortages.

Strategically allocate resources to projects and optimise onsite scheduling.
Strategic Resource Management

Lead and mentor a dedicated team of technicians, ensuring that roles and responsibilities are clearly defined. Foster a collaborative environment where team members can excel.

Monitor team performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance to improve efficiency, safety, and quality of work. Create opportunities for leadership growth within the team.

Manage staffing schedules to optimise the availability of technicians, ensuring that resource demand is met without overburdening the team.
Skills & Experience

Strong communication skills and ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies.

Exceptional skills in planning, budgeting, and financial control.

Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

Track record of successful project delivery within scope, time, and budget constraints.

Proven experience in leading and inspiring teams.

Strong understanding of network connectivity, structured cabling, and fibre infrastructure.

Strategic thinking and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
What You Need
-
At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.

Proven experience delivering projects in data centres, digital infrastructure, or mission-critical facilities (essential).

Telecommunications trade expertise, highly desirable.

ACMA or equivalent license, plus a valid Driver’s License.

Experience working under PRINCE / controlled-environment methodologies (highly desirable).

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, project management, Engineering, or similar (preferred)

Experience in Digital Infrastructure and/or Construction, essential
