Sulzer is a leading engineering company with a proud heritage of innovation. Join our global team to grow your expertise and develop innovative solutions that enable a prosperous and more sustainable society.
Sulzer is a global industrial leader with a worldwide network of over 100 service centres offering state-of-the-art spare parts, maintenance and service solutions for pumps, turbines, compressors, motors and generators. In our Global Parts Pricing & Projects Team we are building pricing as a strategic commercial capability — and we are looking for exceptional analytical talent to accelerate that journey.
This is not a typical pricing or analytics position. You will sit at the intersection of data science, commercial strategy and digital transformation — shaping pricing decisions across a ~ CHF 1.4B+ Services portfolio spanning 45 countries and 100+ service centres worldwide. You will work directly with the Global Pricing Head and regional leadership to close pricing gaps, build visibility infrastructure and drive measurable commercial impact at scale.
If you have a premier engineering foundation, a consulting mindset and the ambition to build something that matters globally — this role is designed for you.
- Design and optimize a global pricing strategy for Sulzer's aftermarket — covering OEM spares, repair pricing and VBP models across all product lines
- Build and deploy data-driven pricing models that close the CHF 1.4B+ coverage gap — identifying where margin is left on the table and quantifying the full financial impact
- Develop pricing tools and frameworks enabling consistent, market-responsive pricing decisions across all regions, product lines and customer segments
- Lead profitability analyses, and contract price governance — turning data into clear, executive-ready action plans
- Build pricing dashboards giving leadership real-time visibility into hit rate, end-to-end GP and price increase impact across the full
Services portfolio
- Apply machine learning and AI techniques to pricing optimisation, hit rate analysis and customer segmentation — using Python, R and modern AI tooling
- Design and build pricing APIs and data pipelines that connect pricing logic to operational systems including SAP, Qlik and ZEST across the global service network
- Develop AI-assisted price recommendation engines and automated escalation logic that reduce manual intervention and improve decision speed
- Create Qlik dashboards and data visualisations that bring key pricing KPIs — hit rate, GP, contract prices and price increase impact — to life for business users globally
- Serve as the internal centre of excellence for data science — run workshops, train business teams and build the data infrastructure that makes pricing a proactive commercial engine
- Lead and contribute to digitalisation projects across Sulzer's global Service Centre network — from scoping and business case through to implementation and adoption
- Translate complex business problems into structured analytical solutions — develop the idea, build the business case, secure stakeholder buy-in and drive delivery
- Drive commercial excellence initiatives including urgency pricing, customer multiplier models and estimated margin capability — building the pricing infrastructure for 2027 and beyond
The ideal candidate combines outstanding quantitative and analytical capability with a consulting-grade ability to structure problems, communicate insights and drive business change. Premier engineering foundations and hands-on data science expertise are the core of what we are looking for.
- B.Tech / M.Tech from IIT, NIT, BITS Pilani, or equivalent — strong quantitative foundations are non-negotiable; MBA from Tier 1 college is an advantage while not mandatory
- 5–8 years of experience in data science, pricing analytics, commercial excellence, strategy or management consulting — in a consulting firm, industrial company or technology environment
- Experience at a top-tier consulting firm (McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Deloitte, ZS equivalent) is a strong differentiator — we are looking for candidates who can structure problems and lead change, not just build models
- Proven ability to translate complex data into executive-ready insights that drive real business decisions
- Expert-level Python and/or R — you write production-quality, maintainable code, not just exploratory notebook scripts
- Hands-on ML frameworks — scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow or equivalent; built and deployed in a business context
- API development & data engineering — REST APIs, data pipelines, SAP / ERP / BI system integration
- Modern AI & LLM tools — OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face applied to business problems
- Data visualisation — Qlik, Power BI or Tableau; SAP / ERP exposure is an advantage
- Commercial mindset — you think in margin impact and business outcomes, not just model accuracy or technical elegance
- Executive presence — able to present complex analysis simply, persuasively and confidently to senior leadership in a global setting
- Self-starter with structured thinking — you define the problem before solving it, build the business case and drive to completion without waiting to be directed
- Global collaboration — comfortable working across time zones, cultures, functions and seniority levels; fluent English essential
- Willingness to travel internationally on occasion; fluent English essential for global collaboration
- Global scope and real impact — your work influences a CHF 1.2B+ portfolio across 30 countries from Day 1; this is not a regional or support role
- Strategic access — you work directly with and present to the Global Pricing Head and Divisional leadership; your recommendations drive real decisions
- Build-from-scratch opportunity — Sulzer Services is in the early stages of a major pricing transformation; you shape it rather than inherit a finished system
- International exposure and travel — collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders from across the world in a truly global team
- Continuous professional development — targeted internal and external training, cross-functional collaboration and global project experience throughout your career at Sulzer
- Competitive remuneration and benefits — flexible working arrangements, strong on-site environment in Pune and access to Sulzer's global career and mobility network
