Key Responsibilities:
Laboratory Support
- Assist faculty members and trainers in conducting practical classes, demonstrations, and workshops.
- Prepare laboratory setups, equipment, tools, and materials before practical sessions.
- Support students during laboratory experiments and practical activities.
- Ensure proper functioning of electrical machines, instruments, and laboratory equipment.
Equipment Maintenance
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Report equipment faults, damages, and repair requirements to the Lab In-charge.
- Coordinate with vendors and maintenance teams for servicing and calibration of equipment.
- Maintain records of equipment maintenance and servicing.
Inventory & Documentation
- Maintain inventory of laboratory equipment, tools, consumables, and spare parts.
- Issue and receive laboratory tools and equipment.
- Keep records of stock utilization and requisition requirements.
- Maintain laboratory registers, logbooks, and asset records.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to electrical safety standards and laboratory safety protocols.
- Verify proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by students and staff.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the laboratory.
- Assist in conducting safety audits and inspections.
Administrative Support
- Assist in organizing technical events, workshops, exhibitions, and project demonstrations.
- Support accreditation, inspection, and audit-related documentation.
- Assist in procurement and installation of new laboratory equipment.
Educational Qualification:
- ITI Electrician / Wireman, OR
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience in an educational institution, laboratory, workshop, or electrical maintenance environment will be preferred.
Required Skills:
- Basic knowledge of electrical circuits, machines, wiring, and testing instruments.
- Familiarity with electrical laboratory equipment and tools.
- Understanding of electrical safety procedures.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, Excel, documentation).
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and students.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Electrical Engineering laboratories, ITI, Polytechnic, or Engineering Colleges.
- Certification in Electrical Safety or related technical course
