Job Summary
The Staff Nurse is responsible for delivering safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to patients in accordance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and professional nursing standards. The role involves patient assessment, medication administration, patient monitoring, documentation, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and nursing protocols.
- Assess patients' physical and emotional conditions and monitor vital signs.
- Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, surgeries, and emergencies.
- Monitor patients for any changes in condition and immediately report abnormalities to the treating physician.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation and patient records.
- Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control protocols.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, surgeries, and medical procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and readiness of patient care areas and medical equipment.
- Coordinate effectively with doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide Basic Life Support (BLS) when required.
- Follow hospital policies, quality standards, and patient safety guidelines.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training programs, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Nursing Superintendent or Hospital Management.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualification:
- B.Sc. Nursing
- Freshers and experienced candidates are welcome to apply.
- Valid State Nursing Council Registration is mandatory.
Required Skills
- Strong clinical and patient care skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Team-oriented with a compassionate and professional attitude.
- Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) is an added advantage.
Working Conditions
- Rotational shifts (Day / Night).
- Weekly off as per hospital policy.
Preferred Experience
- Freshers can apply.
- Experience in ICU, ER, OT, Ward, NICU, Dialysis, or General Nursing will be an added advantage.
