Job Description – Mechanical Engineer
Position Title: Mechanical Engineer
Department: Engineering / Projects / Maintenance
Role Purpose:
To design, develop, test, and oversee the installation and maintenance of mechanical systems, machines, and equipment, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Development
- Create and review mechanical designs, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Develop innovative solutions for mechanical systems and processes.
- Project Execution
- Plan, execute, and monitor mechanical engineering projects.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (electrical, civil, production, etc.).
- Installation & Maintenance
- Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment.
- Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance of machines and systems.
- Quality & Safety
- Ensure all designs and operations comply with safety standards and regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and troubleshoot system malfunctions.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain technical records, drawings, manuals, and project documentation.
- Provide regular progress reports to management.
- Vendor & Client Coordination
- Evaluate vendor quotations and ensure quality compliance.
- Interact with clients and contractors to resolve technical issues.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.).
- Good understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science.
- Analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Strong project management and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E/B.Tech).
- Master’s Degree (optional, preferred for senior positions).
- 0–2 years of experience for entry-level / 3–8 years for mid-level / 8+ years for senior level.
