About the Role
Rinwera Designs is seeking an experienced Fabric Department Manager to oversee all fabric-related operations at our Bhiwandi manufacturing unit. This role is critical to ensuring smooth production planning through effective fabric sourcing, inventory management, quality control, and coordination with internal teams and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure fabrics based on design briefs and production requirements
- Manage and maintain accurate fabric inventory records
- Coordinate with suppliers, mills, and processing units (dyeing, printing, finishing)
- Ensure fabric quality through inspections before issuing to production
- Monitor fabric consumption and plan timely reordering
- Work closely with the design, merchandising, cutting, and production teams for smooth workflow
- Supervise fabric storage, handling, and internal distribution within the unit
- Follow up with vendors to ensure timely deliveries and resolve issues proactively
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in fabric sourcing, inventory management, or production
- Strong understanding of ethnicwear fabrics such as cotton, rayon, viscose, silks, etc.
- Practical knowledge of dyeing, printing, and fabric finishing processes
- Proficient in Excel and fabric/inventory tracking systems
- Strong vendor coordination, follow-up, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced garment manufacturing environment
