Job Description: Software Technical Writer
Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Software Technical Writer with foundational knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and a strong interest in creating clear, structured, and high-quality technical documentation. The candidate will support the documentation needs of UAV and system-level software products, including SRS, SDN, and architectural documents, ensuring alignment with industry standards and organizational quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, develop, organize, write, and edit operational procedures, and other technical documents.

Create and maintain software documentation such as:

Software Requirement Specification (SRS)

Software Design Notes (SDN)
-
System / Software Architecture Documents
-
User Guides and Installation Manuals
-
Prepare and update technical specifications at UAV and system levels, along with product requirement documents aligned with market and customer needs.

Ensure documentation compliance with SDLC processes and standards (e.g. AS9100D or ISO 12207).

Manage version control, updates, revisions, and change history of all technical documents also ensure requirement traceability.

Support development and implementation of documentation quality control processes.

Participate in internal and external audits related to documentation.

Work closely with cross-functional teams including:

Software Engineers

Electronics and Hardware Engineers

Product Management
-
Quality Assurance
-
Project Managers
-
Coordinate with customers and certification / approving agencies for document review and approval.
Skills & Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science / IT / MCA or related field.

Basic understanding of SDLC concepts and documentation lifecycle.

Knowledge of XML and DITA, HTTP implementation.

Awareness of UAV systems, including flight controllers, sensors, and autopilot systems (will be added advantage).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
