Job Summary
The Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, rate analyses, and quantity take-offs for high-rise building projects. The role requires deep knowledge of construction methodologies, market rates, and hands-on experience in Kannix Highrise software for estimation and quantification. The engineer will support tendering, contractor evaluation, BOQ preparation, and cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Estimation & Costing
Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil, architectural, finishing, and MEP works in high-rise buildings.
Use Kanix High Rise software (mandatory) to generate quantity take-offs and develop cost models.
Prepare discipline-wise BOQs and cost summaries.
Develop project budgets, baseline cost plans, and cash flow projections.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and conduct gap analysis between budget and tender.
2. Rate Analysis
Prepare detailed rate analysis for civil, finishing, and specialized high-rise activities.
Analyze material, labor, equipment, overheads, and productivity factors for accurate costing.
Develop standard rate analysis formats based on CPWD, DSR, SOR, market rates, and project-specific benchmarks.
Update rate banks periodically based on vendor feedback and market fluctuations.
Ensure rate analysis supports tender pricing, change orders, and contractor negotiations.
3. Quantity Surveying
Conduct accurate quantity take-offs from tender, GFC, and revision drawings.
Prepare measurement sheets and quantity abstracts.
Track design changes and update cost implications.
Verify contractor RA bills, joint measurements, and final accounts.
Maintain reconciliation reports for materials and quantities.
4. Contractor & Vendor Evaluation
Invite and review quotations from contractors and agencies.
Prepare comprehensive technical & commercial comparison sheets.
Ensure scope coverage, specification compliance, and realistic pricing.
Support negotiation and finalization of work orders with accurate cost insights.
5. High-Rise Building Expertise
Knowledge of high-rise structural systems (PT slabs, shear walls, MIVAN/Aluform, high-strength concrete).
Experience in estimating building cores, façade systems, vertical services, and fire-fighting systems.
Understanding of tower construction sequencing, floor cycle time, and specialized high-rise items.
6. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare tender BOQ, rate analysis sheets, cost breakdown structures (CBS), and pricing templates.
Maintain historical cost data, productivity norms, and benchmarking records.
Generate estimation reports, budget variance reports, and cost summaries.
Skills & Competencies
Kannix Highrise Software expertise – mandatory.
Strong rate analysis skills (material, labor, equipment, overheads).
Excellent knowledge of construction materials, market rates, and productivity norms.
Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced functions), AutoCAD, and QS tools.
Ability to read architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
Strong analytical, numerical, and documentation skills.
Good communication and coordination abilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field.
6–12 years of experience in estimation/QS for high-rise building projects.
Mandatory experience with Kannix Highrise software.
Familiarity with tendering processes, contract terms.
Office location is in Lullanagar Pune
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹650,000.00 per month
