Nirman Academy is a professional design education institution focused on developing industry-ready Architects, Interior Designers and Design Professionals through practical, technology-driven and industry-oriented education.
We are looking for a passionate Architect / Designer to join our Kochi campus as a Teaching Faculty. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in design and practical industry exposure, along with the ability to communicate, mentor and guide students effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging and practical classes in Architecture, Interior Design and related design subjects.
- Conduct design studio sessions and guide students through the complete design-development process.
- Teach and demonstrate concept development, space planning, architectural drawing, drafting, detailing and documentation.
- Guide students in developing design concepts, projects, assignments and presentations.
- Provide practical exposure to real-world architectural and interior design workflows.
- Mentor students in design thinking, creativity, problem-solving and professional skills.
- Conduct project reviews, critiques, presentations and assessments.
- Guide students in developing professional portfolios and project documentation.
- Introduce students to current industry practices, materials, construction methods and design technologies.
- Maintain academic discipline, student progress and required academic records.
- Participate in workshops, seminars, exhibitions, site visits and other academic activities.
- Contribute to curriculum development and the continuous improvement of the academy's teaching methodology.
- Encourage students to understand and adopt industry-relevant software, digital design tools and emerging technologies including AI-assisted design workflows.
Required Skills
The candidate should have good working knowledge of one or more of the following:
- AutoCAD
- SketchUp
- Revit / BIM
- 3ds Max
- V-Ray
- Lumion
- Enscape
- Photoshop
- Illustrator / InDesign
- Other relevant architectural and visualization software
Strong knowledge of design principles, working drawings, detailing, materials, construction and practical project execution will be highly valued.
Eligibility
- B.Arch / M.Arch / B.Des / M.Des / Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, or a relevant design qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience preferred.
- Previous teaching or training experience will be an advantage.
- Candidates with strong professional experience and a genuine interest in teaching are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain design and technical concepts clearly to students.
- Strong interest in mentoring and developing young designers.
Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a Designer who can teach, mentor and inspire students.
Candidates with a combination of professional practice + design knowledge + communication skills + teaching ability will be preferred.
