FREELANCE INTERIOR DESIGNER — BENGALURU
Kalavya Atelier is looking to collaborate with a Freelance Interior Designer for our residential interior projects.
Location: Bengaluru only
We are specifically looking for designers with a strong eye for intricate, bespoke and custom-designed interiors — designers who can take ownership of a project from concept to design closure.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Visit client sites as and when required
- Attend client meetings, site discussions and design reviews
- Understand the client’s requirements, lifestyle, budget and expectations
- Take accurate site measurements and coordinate site photographs when required
- Develop designs from concept to final approval
- Prepare space planning, zoning, furniture layouts, circulation and functional design solutions
- Create moodboards, design themes, material palettes, colour concepts and styling references
- Prepare 2D drawings, working drawings, elevations, ceiling concepts, lighting layouts, electrical points and detailed furniture drawings
- Develop custom furniture and intricate design details specific to each project
- Suggest premium, practical and executable materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, décor and soft furnishings
- Coordinate with vendors, execution teams and internal team members wherever required
- Present design concepts to clients, incorporate feedback and handle revisions
- Support BOQ/design estimate discussions wherever required
- Take ownership of design quality and ensure the final design is aesthetic, functional and executable
WHO CAN APPLY?
- Interior designers, architects or experienced freelance designers
- Bengaluru-based candidates only
- Strong portfolio showcasing custom, bespoke or detail-oriented interior projects
- Good understanding of materials, finishes, furniture and spatial planning
- Strong creative thinking and attention to detail
- Comfortable with client meetings, presentations and site visits
- Good communication and ability to take ownership of design projects
IMPORTANT
This is NOT a modular-interior role.
We are ONLY looking for designers experienced in intricate, custom-designed and bespoke interiors.
If your portfolio primarily consists of modular kitchens, wardrobes or standardised modular solutions, please do not apply.
