Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals for filter presses and associated systems, including hydraulic systems, pumps, filter plates, filter cloths, and accessories.
- Perform equipment sizing, configuration, and selection based on process data, slurry characteristics, and customer requirements.
- Develop technical documentation such as equipment datasheets, P&IDs, general arrangement (GA) drawings (in coordination with the design team), scope of supply, and compliance statements.
- Prepare cost estimates, bills of materials (BOMs), and commercial pricing for proposals.
- Review and analyse RFQs, tender documents, and process parameters, including solids concentration, particle size, filtration cycle time, and cake dryness requirements.
- Recommend the most suitable filter press configuration, including manual, semi-automatic, automatic, recessed plate, and membrane filter presses.
- Define key design parameters such as plate size, plate quantity, filtration area, operating cycle time, and expected performance.
- Select appropriate pumps, piping systems, hydraulic power packs, and automation packages to meet project requirements.
Coordination & Technical Support:
- Collaborate with the design engineering team to develop customized technical solutions.
- Provide technical support to the sales team during customer meetings, technical discussions, and commercial negotiations.
- Deliver pre-sales technical presentations and product demonstrations when required.
- Ensure proposals comply with customer specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards.
- Prepare tender documentation, compliance matrices, technical clarifications, and deviation statements.
- Maintain proposal documentation, costing records, and quotation databases for future reference.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of filter press technology, hydraulic systems, slurry handling, and solid-liquid separation processes.
- Experience in equipment sizing, process calculations, and system selection.
- Proficiency in interpreting GA drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication drawings.
- Ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
- Diploma, B.E., or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
Experience:
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in proposal engineering, application engineering, or process equipment sales support.
Compensation:
- Salary is not a constraint for the right candidate and will be commensurate with experience and expertise.
