- Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities
1. Plant Maintenance & Operations
- Execute and monitor daily preventive, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance of all mechanical utility and plant equipment to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and maintain critical process equipment including Reactors (GLR/SSR), Centrifuges, Agitators, ANFDs, Dryers (RCVD/FBD), Pumps, and Vacuum systems.
- Oversee utility operations including Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Air Compressors, and Nitrogen plants.
2. Documentation & Compliance (GMP/ISO)
- Prepare, review, and execute Equipment Qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) and validation documents.
- Draft and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance operations and safety guidelines.
- Maintain comprehensive history cards, breakdown logs, and preventive maintenance checklists in compliance with ISO and cGMP standards.
- Actively support internal and external regulatory audits by providing accurate engineering documentation.
3. Erection, Installation & Projects
- Supervise and coordinate the erection, installation, and commissioning of new machinery, equipment, and piping systems.
- Review vendor designs, technical datasheets, and compliance documents to ensure alignment with project requirements and GMP standards.
- Collaborate with the procurement/projects team to follow up on equipment fabrication and timely deliveries.
4. EHS & Workplace Safety
- Ensure strict adherence to Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines across all maintenance activities.
- Issue and monitor Work Permits (Hot work, Height work, Confined space) and ensure team usage of proper PPE.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of API manufacturing equipment, rotary machinery, alignment, and mechanical seals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Clear understanding of cGMP, ISO guidelines, and validation protocols within a regulated pharma facility.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and effective communication skills to coordinate with Production and QA departments.
