Key Responsibilities1. Hardware and System Support
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, biometric devices, and POS systems.
- Monitor the functioning of all hardware devices in retail stores and offices.
- Provide support for system breakdowns and technical issues.
- Coordinate with vendors for repair and replacement of faulty hardware.
2. Software Support
- Install and update operating systems, antivirus software, billing software, MS Office, and other applications.
- Ensure all systems are updated with required patches and security updates.
- Support users in resolving software-related issues.
3. Network and Internet Management
- Monitor internet connectivity, Wi-Fi, LAN, and network devices.
- Troubleshoot network-related problems in stores and offices.
- Ensure proper connectivity of systems, printers, CCTV, and POS machines.
4. Retail Store IT Support
- Support billing systems, barcode scanners, receipt printers, and POS machines.
- Ensure store systems are functioning during store opening and closing.
- Resolve issues related to billing software, sales reports, and stock systems.
- Provide immediate support during downtime to avoid disruption in store operations.
5. User Support and Help Desk
- Respond to IT support requests from employees.
- Maintain records of complaints, issues, and resolutions.
- Guide employees on proper system usage and basic troubleshooting.
- Provide remote support whenever required.
6. Data Backup and Security
- Ensure regular data backup of important company files and retail store data.
- Monitor antivirus status and system security.
- Maintain confidentiality of company information.
- Support data recovery during system failures.
7. Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with external service providers for internet, hardware, CCTV, and software-related support.
- Follow up with vendors for timely issue resolution.
- Maintain AMC records and vendor contact details.
8. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain IT asset register for systems, printers, and devices.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly IT support reports.
- Keep records of system installations, software licenses, and service requests.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and networking
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Familiarity with MS Office applications
- Basic troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of LAN, Wi-Fi, printers, and CCTV systems
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Problem-solving ability
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
- Willingness to travel to retail stores if required
Educational Qualification
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, BCA, B.Sc IT, or related field
- Certification in Hardware, Networking, CCNA, MCSE, or similar courses will be an added advantage
