We're now expanding our faculty and looking for passionate Subject Matter Experts to join us at our Kottayam office.
Role Summary
As a Subject Matter Expert, you'll design and deliver high-quality lesson plans, assessments, and learning materials in your subject, and teach live online classes to international students. Your insights will directly shape our teaching approach. This is an office-based role at our Kottayam centre, with the opportunity to work with diverse, international curricula and learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed, modular lesson plans and course outlines tailored to various grade levels and international curricula.
- Develop practice exercises, quizzes, and exam-style questions that reinforce clear learning outcomes.
- Conduct live online classes via our virtual classroom platform, keeping students engaged with polls, breakout rooms, and interactive whiteboards.
- Explain complex concepts clearly, adapting your teaching style to diverse learning needs.
- Design and grade formative and summative assessments, and give students constructive, actionable feedback.
- Track and analyse student performance data to identify gaps and recommend targeted interventions.
- Collaborate with instructional designers to review and refine digital content for accuracy and alignment with international standards.
- Periodically update course materials to reflect syllabus changes and best practices.
- Stay current with curriculum developments, exam patterns, and emerging teaching methodologies.
- Contribute to faculty training sessions and knowledge-sharing workshops.
- Hold one-on-one doubt-clearing sessions and mentor students on study strategies and time management.
- Foster a positive, supportive learning environment that builds student participation and confidence.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Postgraduate degree in the relevant area of expertise plus a B.Ed.
- Experience: 3–5 years of teaching or tutoring experience — online experience with international students is a strong plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with virtual classroom tools (Zoom, MS Teams, Google Classroom), LMS platforms, and content-creation software.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal English.
- Subject Expertise: Deep command of both fundamental and advanced concepts in your subject.
- Pedagogical Skill: Able to break complex ideas into digestible modules using varied teaching methods.
- Analytical Mindset: A data-driven approach to tracking progress and refining instruction.
- Time Management: Able to manage multiple classes, deadlines, and student queries efficiently.
