Job Summary
The Maintenance Head is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling all maintenance activities to ensure maximum equipment availability, plant reliability, safety compliance, and cost-effective operations. The role involves preventive, predictive, breakdown, utility, and facility maintenance management while leading the maintenance team to achieve production targets with minimum downtime.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance Management
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Ensure timely execution of breakdown maintenance activities.
- Monitor machine uptime and reduce downtime through effective maintenance practices.
- Prepare annual maintenance budgets and control maintenance costs.
- Maintain records of machine history, maintenance schedules, and spare parts consumption.
- Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Plant & Utility Maintenance
- Ensure smooth operation of utilities such as:
- Air Compressors
- DG Sets
- Chillers
- Cooling Towers
- Boilers
- HVAC Systems
- Water Treatment Systems
- Maintain plant infrastructure, electrical systems, and facilities.
Team Management
- Lead and supervise maintenance engineers, supervisors, technicians, and electricians.
- Allocate manpower and monitor work performance.
- Conduct training programs to enhance technical skills and safety awareness.
- Develop succession planning and team capability.
Spare Parts & Inventory Control
- Ensure optimum inventory levels of critical spares.
- Coordinate with procurement for timely sourcing of materials and spare parts.
- Monitor spare consumption and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with statutory and safety regulations.
- Implement Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures and maintenance safety standards.
- Participate in safety audits and corrective action implementation.
- Ensure adherence to ISO, TPM, and other applicable standards.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive TPM, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and Reliability Improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and improve MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair).
- Implement energy-saving and cost-reduction projects.
- Support automation and modernization initiatives.

Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Additional certifications in TPM, Reliability Engineering, or Maintenance Management will be preferred.
Experience
- 12–20 years of experience in maintenance functions within a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role managing plant maintenance operations.
