Typical responsibilities include:
Plant Operation
- Start up and shut down the MEE system safely.
- Operate evaporators, condensers, pumps, vacuum systems, and steam lines.
- Maintain required:
- temperature
- pressure
- vacuum
- steam flow
- feed rate
- concentration levels
- Monitor control panels, gauges, PLC/SCADA systems.
Process Monitoring
- Check TDS, density, pH, concentration, and product quality.
- Ensure proper evaporation efficiency and steam economy.
- Monitor condensate recovery and cooling systems.
- Maintain proper circulation in all effects.
Equipment Handling
- Operate:
- feed pumps
- transfer pumps
- condensate pumps
- vacuum pumps
- agitators
- crystallizers (if attached)
- Identify abnormal noises, leakage, vibration, scaling, or choking.
Maintenance Support
- Perform routine cleaning and CIP (Cleaning in Place).
- Remove scaling/fouling from tubes and heat exchangers.
- Assist maintenance teams during breakdowns and shutdowns.
- Report equipment faults immediately.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow SOPs and safety procedures.
- Handle steam and chemicals safely.
- Use PPE properly.
- Maintain environmental and pollution-control compliance.
Documentation
- Maintain log sheets and production records.
- Record:
- steam consumption
- feed quantity
- condensate recovery
- downtime
- chemical usage
- Shift handover reporting.
Utility Coordination
- Coordinate with:
- boiler operators
- ETP/ZLD operators
- maintenance department
- production team
- Ensure continuous steam, cooling water, and power supply.
